Semi precious gemstones are incorporated into most of my jewelry. The difference between semi precious and precious gemstones is really just terms that are used which consider the value of what a stone will bring in the marketplace and also how common the stone is.
It is important to keep in mind that all gemstones are simply stones that have been enhanced by cutting and polishing them.
Just because a gemstone is considered semi precious does not make it any less beautiful than a precious stone. In my opinion the look of the gemstone counts for much more than the value placed on the stone. In choosing the stones that are incorporated into my handmade jewelry, it is the look not the price that is taken into consideration.
Semi precious gemstones such as quartz, jade, amethyst, lapis, turquoise, moonstone, peridot, jade, jasper, garnet, agate, malachite, coral and carnelian are among my favorites to incorporate into my handmade artisan jewelry.
